City of Ellaville Receives Technology Award; High-Speed Wireless Internet Project Installed by Tri-State Broadband Wins Attention of Technology Leadership Coalition.

ELLAVILLE, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2003

The Technology Leader Coalition last week awarded the City of Ellaville its distinctive award for an innovative public project by a local government body in Georgia.

The recipients are selected by executives from technology companies and related organizations throughout the State of Georgia.

Mayor Hughes Palmer agreed, "We made the right decision last year to install the new wireless broadband High-speed wireless transmission of data. What is "high" speed is always a changing number. In the past, wireless broadband started at 250 Kbps, whereas land-based broadband was generally considered to start at T1  system and we are very pleased that our actions have gained the attention of the technology industry.
