City of Dallas Goes-Live on State-of-the-Art Computer-Aided Dispatch System to Enable Multi-Agency, Multi-Jurisdictional Dispatch and Rapid Response.

SAN DIEGO San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  -- TriTech Software Systems, a leading provider of multi-agency, multi-jurisdiction public safety software solutions, announces the successful implementation of the multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system for City of Dallas on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, replacing its 30-year-old obsolete mainframe system.

"We're extremely pleased with how VisiCAD is performing and Dallas Police and Dallas Fire Rescue dispatchers agree that the CAD system is performing extremely well. The dispatch system has performed flawlessly since go live. The enthusiasm for the system, its capabilities and potential, and the TriTech team go without question to enhancing the City's public safety services," says Lynn Chaffin, Public Safety Portfolio Manager for the City of Dallas. She also stated, "The entire TriTech team has been extremely dedicated to our go live. Our dispatchers have commented on how much support they felt by being able to look around and see TriTech personnel there, ready to help if needed. The engineering staff has been very responsive and resourceful in addressing our issues."

Ms. Chaffin went on to further say, "Implementing a large-scale project of this complexity offers many challenges and we are making good progress. Issues concerning MDC (1) (Mobile Daughter Card) See riser card.

Connectivity and several Interface improvements have been quickly facilitated by TriTech engineering staff, and writing police reports to the legacy mainframe has required additional programming. The primary frustrations of officers in the field relate to connectivity issues that are being addressed; additional field training should resolve other issues. At no time during this implementation has public safety or officer safety been compromised."

VisiCAD Command(TM), TriTech's award-winning computer-aided dispatch system, enables the city's three command centers, Dallas 9-1-1, Dallas Police, and Dallas Fire and Rescue, the flexibility and configurability for handling multi-agency, multi-jurisdiction "joint responses" to emergency and non-emergency calls. Each agency's mobile resources (1,800 Police and 200 Fire & Rescue) can be jointly coordinated on an interoperable level with the command centers handling the city's 4,000 daily calls (3.6 million annually).

VisiCAD Command's integrated mapping provides a GIS-centric approach to computer-aided dispatch and emergency response not previously available. The mapping display integrates with in-vehicle Automatic Vehicle Locator LOCATOR, civil law. He who leases or lets a thing to hire to another. His duties are, 1st. The GIS integration and AVL functionality work seamlessly to assign resources through routing-based unit recommendations that utilize street networks to ensure fast and accurate unit routing and incident response times.

VisiCAD's seamless Interface capabilities will also allow for other departmental agencies to be brought on-line such as Dallas Police Department The Dallas Police Department, established in 1881, is the principal law enforcement agency serving Dallas, Texas.
