Triple Point Technology, Inc. (www.tpt.com), the global leader in streamlining energy trading operations and providing tools that enable energy companies, utilities, and marketers to manage risks, today announced the successful deployment of its Power XL electricity transaction and risk management system at Anaheim Public Utilities Department.

The Application Service Provider (ASP) implementation was completed in 10 weeks.

Anaheim is using Power XL to streamline its operations and manage the risks inherent in its electricity portfolio. Additionally, Anaheim is using Triple Point's recently-launched California ISO (1) See ISO speed.

A battery of scenario and value-based risk management tools allow utilities to arrive at a more complete picture of their position, or supply obligations and expected generation loads. Power XL combines this granularity of position keeping with rich trading functionality for hedging and portfolio management.

"Power XL's user base is growing because of its modern toolset and advanced technology. The ASP deployment is designed to help utilities like Anaheim Public Utilities measure, monitor, and control their power operations," said Triple Point Technology, president Peter F. Armstrong.

The ASP model is an attractive offering to municipalities and mid-sized utilities because it does not require the usual investment in IT infrastructure, it enables rapid deployment, and offers seamless software upgrades.

"Triple Point offers a complete front- to back-office system and they were the first to the market with a California ISO-compatible solution for scheduling, billing and settlement," said Steve Sciortino, Integrated Resources Manager for Anaheim Public Utilities. "Given Triple Point's impressive history of providing leading-edge solutions to the energy industry, the ability to deploy Power XL via ASP, and our RFP (Request For Proposal) A document that invites a vendor to submit a bid for hardware, software and/or services.
