Green funds A NEW scheme launched in Northumberland will provide grants for community buildings and businesses looking to go green. The Renewable Energy Renewable energy utilizes natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation. Capital Grants Scheme, funded by Northumberland Strategic Partnership, will provide grants for up to half of the cost of purchasing and installing renewable energy equipment, to a maximum of pounds 30,000.
