City looks set to come alive with a festival of colour.A SENSATIONAL summer party hits the city's streets this weekend as the Cardiff Festival gets into full swing. The Bay's waterfront will come alive with a masquerade of Caribbean inspired revellers this Saturday, as the MAS Carnival winds its way around the streets of Butetown. Flamboyant costumes and creations, masks and headpieces, giant puppets and huge mobile sculptures will be leaving the Butetown Youth Pavilion, Dumballs Road, at 7.30pm before making their way down James Street
For the James Street in Hamilton, see James Street (Hamilton, Ontario). , Adelaide Street and into Mermaid Quay to the sound of samba, steelpan and African street drumming. The procession will then dance its way throughout Mermaid Quay before finally arriving at Roald Dahls Plass, Oval Basin, at approximately 8.30pm, as master of ceremonies John Lenney Junior gives a full commentary on the presentation of costumes. Steve Fletcher, development officer at SWICA SWICA South Wales Intercultural Community Arts (UK) SWICA State Wage Information Collection Agency , said: ``Everyone has been working so hard in the last few weeks to give Cardiff the best party it has ever seen! ``We hope that spectators will come out in their thousands to support Cardiff's very own Notting Hill and to share in the cultural diversity of this flamboyant parade.''
