City launches plumbing field inspection system.

 Buildings Department's innovative handheld handheld: see personal digital assistant.  project for conducting plumbing plumbing, piping systems inside buildings for water supply and sewage. The Romans had a highly developed plumbing system; water was brought to Rome by aqueducts and distributed to homes in lead pipes—hence the name plumbing from the Latin word plumbum  field inspections was introduced this week.

 appointment requests, optimizing inspection routes, standardizing objections and relating them to the NYC Building Code, downloading downloading - download  inspection work orders, recording inspections and uploading results.

All plumbing inspection appointments are now directed to the Department's Central Call Center at 212-227-2004. To schedule an appointment, call between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Plumbing inspection self-certifications will use a new form. OP-38 and OP-39 forms have been combined into one new form called the OP-98. The OP-98 form replaces OP-38 or OP-39. OP-38 and OP-39 forms will not be accepted after Jan. 20.

To notify the department of your intent to self-certify, the form can be submitted on-line, faxed to 212-566-4594 or 212-566-4752, mailed or dropped-off at 280 Broadway. To submit inspection results the form must be mailed or dropped off.

When mailing or dropping off your form, please send the original plus 2 copies and required documentation along with a stamped self-addressed envelope. Beginning Jan.20 all inspection schedules, results, objections and status will be available on online.
