City debts will be cleared by deadline.

CHESTER CITY chairman Ian Anderson is confident that the Blue Square Premier League club will have cleared all their outstanding financial issues by next Monday's deadline.

The Football Conference issued a statement on their website on Wednesday, stating that City may be expelled from the League if a number of football related debts weren't cleared by 5pm on Monday. Anderson said last night: "We have had further discussions with the Conference. Following those talks we are now confident that the outstanding issues will be cleared satisfactorily by Monday.

"The discussions centred around how the monies that we are owed from the Football League and the Conference will be distributed and discharged to our creditors."

Monies are owed to the PFA and Conference clubs Wrexham and Vauxhall Motors. Anderson also revealed that City's directors would be meeting representatives of the PFA next week.

Meanwhile, City's new supporters' group Fans United officially launched themselves last night. A meeting, chaired by former Daily Post journalist Charles Lambert, got the new association off the ground at the Diva's Show Bar.

Chester will renew the loan spell of Rochdale midfielder Clark Keltie, today. The month's extension means he will be eligible for tomorrow's trip to Barrow in the final qualifying round of the FA Cup.

City manager Jim Harvey is hopeful that he will be able to name the same side who defeated Gateshead last weekend.
