MARK HUGHES has warned Manchester City fans they will not truly see the benefit of his extensive squad reshuffle until next season.

The arrival of Shay Given from Newcastle completed a hectic transfer window for the City manager.

Although he missed out on Brazilian superstar Kaka, Hughes signed Wayne Bridge, Nigel de Jong and Craig Bellamy.

"People don't understand how much of a change has been undertaken here," said Hughes (pictured). "The alterations we have made on and off the field have been vast.

"Certainly I am confident about the impact they will have and I am looking for a strong second half to the season.

"But in addition, the way we do our work on a daily basis will have a positive impact going into next season."

Shaun Wright-Phillips is available for City today after successfully appealing for more time to respond to his violent conduct charge.

Wright-Phillips will be landed with a three-match ban unless he can successfully avoid further punishment for his petulant kick at Rory Delap last Saturday.

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is boosted by the return of midfielders Didier Digard and Gary O'Neil.

Andrew Taylor and Jeremie Aliadiere (both ankle) remain on the casualty list, although the striker has resumed training.

TOTTENHAM v ARSENAL TOMORROW, 1.30PM

ROBBIE KEANE believes he is the man to put an end to Tottenham's relegation worries after revealing Harry Redknapp has put a smile on his face.

Keane brought to an end a brief spell at Liverpool when he signed for his former club.

"Things happen for a reason.

It didn't work out for me and now I'm back with a fantastic club and a fantastic manager who believes in his players," he said. "I did everything I had to do (at Liverpool), did everything possible to play but sometimes the manager just doesn't fancy you, simple as that."

Winger David Bentley misses the game against his former club through suspension and long-term absentee Alan Hutton (foot) remains on the sidelines.

Arsenal could hand a debut to new signing Andrei Arshavin.

WBA v NEWCASTLE TODAY, 3PM

RYAN TAYLOR is struggling to believe Newcastle are fighting for Premier League survival.

The 24-year-old utility man jumped at the chance to join the Magpies earlier in the week and should make his debut today at West Brom.

He said: "I have only trained twice and you see the quality here and it is frightening, really."

Also set for a debut is the Baggies' loan signing Argentinian winger Juan Carlos Menseguez.

CHELSEA v HULL TODAY, 3PM

RICARDO QUARESMA insists he has nothing to prove to Jose Mourinho after quitting Inter for a loan spell with Chelsea, ahead of today's visit of Hull.

The Portugal international was adamant there was no ill-feeling towards the former Chelsea coach.

"I don't regret going to Milan as sometimes things happen that you can't really control," admitted Quaresma. "These things happen in football.

"Players can't really prove anything, if they don't have the opportunity to show what they can do.

"Mr Scolari gives you lots of confidence so I am confident I will give my best for Chelsea. I want to show Chelsea my appreciation and joy on the pitch."

Chelsea are waiting on defender Ricardo Carvalho (hamstring), while, Hull are without striker Daniel Cousin (knee) and the suspended Bernard Mendy. Record signing Jimmy Bullard is also doubtful.

BLACKBURN v VILLA TODAY, 3PM

ASTON Villa aim to create club history by winning at Blackburn in today's Premier League clash - with manager Martin O'Neill admitting his side are better suited to playing away.

Villa will be bidding to win seven successive league games on their travels for the first time at Ewood Park.

O'Neill said: "I would be delighted if we achieve the record but it would be more important, not whether we hold a record or not, if we could win the game.

"The points would be priceless but they have tightened up, haven't been beaten since Sam Allardyce took over and defensively they have given little away."

Blackburn manager Allardyce could hand a debut to El-Hadji Diouf.
