City ballet a treasure.Thank you, Clive Barnes Clive Barnes (born May 13, 1927) in London, Oxford educated, chief Dance, Drama and Opera critic for the New York Post, is a colorful writer and broadcaster, whose career has been long and prolific. ! Your wonderful article about the New York City Ballet New York City Ballet, one of the foremost American dance companies of the 20th cent. It was founded by Lincoln Kirstein and George Balanchine as the Ballet Society in 1946. in the November 2002 issue [Attitudes, page 102] addressed perfectly my wish list of things that needed to be said. You nailed it, so to speak, and your final words on the subject--"spinach spinach, annual plant (Spinacia oleracea) of the family Chenopodiaceae (goosefoot family), probably of Persian origin and known to have been introduced into Europe in the 15th cent. ," etc.--were poetry to my ears. You are my idol (as if you weren't already)! Enough bashing bash v. bashed, bash·ing, bash·es v.tr. 1. To strike with a heavy, crushing blow: The thug bashed the hood of the car with a sledgehammer. 2. ! Have they no eyes? These are the greatest dancers we have. This company is a national treasure.
