City University of Seattle to Offer Four-Year Bachelor of Arts in Management at Lake Washington Technical College.

Partnership Brings Four-Year Business Degree To Lake Washington Technical College 

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- City University of Seattle and Lake Washington Technical College (LWTC) have joined in partnership to bring CityU of Seattle's newly developed Bachelor of Arts in Management (B.A.M.) program directly to the LWTC campus in Redmond, Wash. beginning in the fall of 2008.

Through the partnership, former and current LWTC students will be able to transfer up to 90 LWTC credits into the B.A.M. program. Additionally, the program is also available to anyone in the community who has lower-level credits that they would like to apply to a four-year undergraduate degree.

"Literally tens of thousands of graduates and students of local technical colleges are successfully pursuing technical careers, and have gone on to operate their own businesses or have a desire to reach this goal," comments Lee Gorsuch, president, City University of Seattle. "By offering the B.A.M. program on the LWTC campus in Redmond students will be able acquire the skills and understanding of business management needed to get to the next step in their careers. We are excited to be on the beautiful LWTC campus in Redmond providing a program that was in direct response to the needs of the community."

The B.A.M. program provided by CityU at LWTC allows students to continue their studies on the campus where they began their coursework without having to change locations. LWTC also has agreements with a variety of other universities, providing its students with the ability to smoothly transition between a two-year technical degree and a bachelor's degree.

"This partnership with City University of Seattle is a great utilization of our Redmond campus, and a wonderful opportunity for an additional pathway to a bachelor degree for our students," said Dr. Sharon McGavick, LWTC president.

CityU has been partnering with regional community and technical colleges for more than 20 years. Most recently, the university has offered programs at South Seattle Community College, Skagit Valley Community College, Centralia Community College, Peninsula College, and Bellingham Technical College. By providing the instructors, course plans and structure, CityU has been able to provide students with flexible class options to students around the world.
