City National Bank names Larry Da Silva senior vice president -- entertainment division.


BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1996--Larry Da Silva has joined City National Bank as a senior vice president in the entertainment division, it was announced Monday by Martha Henderson, executive vice president and manager.

Da Silva, who is fluent in five European languages, will direct City National Bank's international film financing business as well as the entertainment division's participation in syndicated credits.

"His international expertise will prove particularly valuable as our business turns increasingly global."

Prior to joining City National Bank, Da Silva served as vice president and manager, entertainment banking, in the Beverly Hills Commercial Center of First Interstate Bank, where he founded and developed their corporate entertainment department. In that position, he oversaw the financing of 88 motion pictures and developed a substantial portfolio of participations in corporate revolving credit facilities.

During his 16 years at First Interstate Bank, Da Silva also served as vice president and team leader for the U.S. corporate banking division and assistant vice president and Southern European desk officer, international division.

He began his career at Kraft Foods International, which sent him to Caracas, Venezuela, where he was a product marketing manager. He then transitioned to banking by taking a position as a loan officer for The Saudi Fund for Development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which provides foreign aid lending to poor countries in Africa and Asia.
