City National Bank Hires Richard Byrd To Head Wealth Management.

:CYN), California's premier private and business bank, today announced that Richard D. Byrd has joined the company as executive vice president and director of Wealth Management Services.

Byrd will be responsible for City National Asset Management and City National Securities, Inc., the company's broker-dealer subsidiary, as well as the bank's personal and business trust services, including its growing 401k business. He will lead a team of 200 colleagues in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area “Bay Area” redirects here. For other uses, see Bay Area (disambiguation).

. Together, they will manage or administer $25.8 billion in client investment and trust assets.

Byrd will serve on City National Bank's Executive Committee and report directly to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Russell Goldsmith.

Byrd joins City National from Wells Fargo Bank, where he was executive vice president and regional managing director of the bank's Private Client Services Division, leading a team of 325 employees that was responsible for $15 billion in private client assets throughout Southern California.

Byrd earned a master's degree in business administration from Santa Clara University in 1993. He obtained his bachelor's degree in economics from University of California, Santa Barbara History
