City National Bank Expects Improved Customer Service With Imaged Reports Bank to install Protocorp International's PCI/Reports product.

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 1996--City National Bank of Florida has selected North Carolina-based Protocorp International (PCI), a Bell & Howell Company, to provide its reports archival system.

The $1.1 billion financial institution is one of the last remaining community banks in the Miami area, profiting despite competition from much larger banks due to City National's dedication to customer service, says Eric Johnson, vice president/director of MIS.

The bank, still owned by its founding family, is celebrating its 50th anniversary serving a diverse customer base throughout Miami.

PCI/Reports allows instantaneous statement retrieval. Under the older system, a customer who asked for a copy of a statement had to wait several days for this information.

PCI/Reports also allows City National to greatly reduce mountains of paperwork, Johnson adds. "We were looking for a 50 to 75 percent reduction in paperwork and quicker customer turnaround."

Reduced paperwork means reduced overhead, reduced operating costs, and, therefore, enhanced profitability, Johnson states.
