City's action group online.


A COMMUNITY group that started on a social networking site A Web site that provides a virtual community for people interested in a particular subject or just to "hang out" together. Members create their own online "profile" with biographical data, pictures, likes, dislikes and any other information they choose to post.  have launched their own website.

The People of Bangor Community group claimed Gwynedd''s most populated area is not being treated fairly by Gwynedd Council Gwynedd Council (Welsh: Cyngor Gwynedd) is the governing body for the principal area of Gwynedd, one of the subdivisions of Wales. .

They marched through the city streets last March to call for better facilities.

After deciding against starting the own political party to challenge councillors on Gwynedd Council and the City Council members have been busy holding meetings with various authorities and other groups to try and find solutions to some of the city's problems.

Chairman Nigel Pickavance said: "Our own website will be different to any other in that it will be dedicated just to Bangor.

"In the same way that Bangor lacks a central function place, it also lacks a single comprehensive web presence.

"It will have many sections including the Bangor Watch section will provide information for Bangorians regarding any city issues and news and updates from both city and Gwynedd council meetings."

Mr Pickavance said the group have many events planned for the 12-months including the relaunch Relaunch can refer to several things:
  • , a series of novels set in the Star Trek universe
  • Relaunch (process), is a marketing process in which a brand or product (such as a magazine or a car) is relaunched
 of the Bangor carnival next June.

The group are busy raising funds and stage car boot sales every weekend at the Arena on the Llandegai Industrial Estate.
