City's 'children at risk' report is hit by delays.


A CRUCIAL official report into Coventry Coventry, city, England
Coventry (kŏv`əntrē, kŭv`–), city (1991 pop. 318,718) and metropolitan district, central England. Coventry is an industrial center noted for its automobile production.
 city council's child protection services will not be published until mid-June.

The delay comes as council officials warn the service could struggle to raise standards to the required level because of cash shortages.

They found nearly 200 youngsters in care - who were on the child protection register and being investigated as at risk - had no named social worker. Four children were thought to have been put at unnecessary extra risk but none was actually harmed.

The council was given a year to get its house in order and the SSI (1) See server-side include and single-system image.

 reinspected Coventry's child protection last October. Its report was expected in December but it is unwilling to publish in the run-up to city council elections on May 4.

Cllr John Mutton John Roderick Mutton (b. 20 September 1947) is the current Labour group leader and Leader of the Opposition on Coventry City Council, and a former Lord Mayor of Coventry. He lives with his wife Marilyn, known as Mal.  (Lab, Binley and Willenhall), chair-man of the children and young persons' policy team, said: "I'm really annoyed with the SSI and I've written to them. I feel people have a right to know whether we've made progress and the areas where we are still weak."

There has been informal feedback on the findings and Cllr Mutton mutton, flesh of mature sheep prepared as food (as opposed to the flesh of young sheep, which is known as lamb). Mutton is deep red with firm, white fat. In Middle Eastern countries it is a staple meat, but in the West, with the exception of Great Britain, Australia,  said there were "no real surprises" but he could not talk about them.

He admitted it could take several years for their standards to be reached.

The SSI wants every child on the child protection register and all those in care to have a named social worker.
