CTIA Wireless 2002 - Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), a global leader in virtual workplace software and services, today announced it is demonstrating fast, secure wireless access to any application over CDMA2000 1X and GPRS networks in its booth (#4848) at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) annual conference, through March 20.

Citrix(R) Independent Computing Architecture (ICA)(R), the core technology behind MetaFrame(R) application serving software and NFuse(TM) Classic access portal software, enables secure and manageable access to Windows(R), UNIX(R), Java(TM) and Web-based applications by employees in the field using PDAs, notebooks or other mobile devices. Wireless network cards from Sierra Wireless (Nasdaq:SWIR)(TSE:SW) allow this data to be accessed over CDMA2000 1X and GPRS networks.

Citrix ICA protocol further enhances the performance of applications accessed wirelessly over high-speed networks. The ICA protocol only transfers screen updates and keystrokes, bringing additional security to the air interface through encryption and authentication, while consuming as little as 10 Kbps of network bandwidth. This enables Windows and UNIX applications to be accessed with exceptional performance on wireless devices.
