Citrix's WinFrame Expected to Save 39,000 Man Hours Annually

Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS) today announced that the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) has implemented WinFrame multi-user application server software to deploy mission-critical applications to more than 600 users in over 100 locations throughout Los Angeles. WinFrame application servers will help the LAFD improve employee productivity, saving approximately 39,000 man hours annually.

WinFrame's efficient, thin-client design allows LAFD employees to handle daily time tracking and staffing assignments faster and more efficiently than when the department's custom- made, Clipper-based applications resided on standalone devices in each station. Using WinFrame, the department can create a unified computing environment throughout its 102 fire stations and numerous administrative offices. Instead of calling each station to check staffing schedules, LAFD employees will now have real-time, on-line access to the most current staffing information. The WinFrame application servers will be centrally located and managed at the LAFD's headquarters in downtown Los Angeles.
