Citrix and SAP Sign Global Technology Partner Agreement.

Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS) announced today it has signed a mySAP.com(TM) global Technology Partner Agreement with SAP AG.

Key terms of the agreement include coordination of worldwide marketing and technical support activities, as well as technical integration and joint development work to optimize the performance of SAP's cross-industry solution, mySAP Workplace, deployed on Citrix technology.

Deploying mySAP Workplace as an open enterprise portal platform via Citrix(R) MetaFrame(TM) enables SAP customers to integrate business-critical Windows(R) and UNIX(R) applications quickly, inexpensively and securely.

Citrix MetaFrame Improves Employee Productivity and Lowers Costs Through Centralized Management

In separate news, Citrix Systems also announced that SAP AG has broadened its internal adoption of Citrix MetaFrame application server software and Independent Computing Architecture (ICA(R)) technology to give employees easy, rapid access to applications. SAP AG has implemented Citrix MetaFrame application server software internally to provide high-performance deployment of more than 40 applications to employees worldwide while lowering computing costs.

Using Citrix MetaFrame, SAP AG is achieving its goals of improved application performance for higher employee productivity, as well as reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) from centralized management and efficient, remote technical support using the shadowing feature.

SAP AG began its deployment of Citrix technology in 1998 with plans to use MetaFrame servers to manage and deliver a wide variety of applications -- in particular, the SAPGUI and Microsoft(R) Office Suite -- to 2,000 users. SAP has now expanded its use of MetaFrame to 50 servers and more than 3,000 users. Further, MetaFrame is being used extensively for SAP training centers around the world.
