Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced updates to its technical and sales certification programs to support the Citrix(R) MetaFrame(R) Access Suite. Building on the success of the award-winning Citrix certification program, which currently boasts more than 45,000 certified technical professionals and 10,000 certified sales professionals, the updated program is designed to help facilitate training and certification on all products and technologies in the MetaFrame Access Suite. As the most comprehensive access infrastructure for the on-demand enterprise, the suite includes Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server, Citrix MetaFrame Secure Access Manager, Citrix MetaFrame Password Manager and Citrix MetaFrame Conferencing Manager.

Citrix has updated the requirements for the Citrix Certified Administrator(TM) (CCA) and Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator(TM) (CCEA) technical certifications to help ensure consistency of technical skills and knowledge among individuals who hold these certifications. With these new requirements, CCA-certified professionals will possess the skills necessary for the most current product platform, for example MetaFrame XP Presentation Server, rather than MetaFrame Presentation Server 1.8 or earlier versions of this product.

Designed for IT professionals including network and system administrators, consultants, systems engineers and analysts, the CCA and CCEA certifications also now provide more options for professionals to drill down into specific product offerings, allowing them to gain more focused expertise in the products that are most relevant for their organizations. Among other changes, CCA and CCEA certification candidates will now be required to pass elective tracks related to MetaFrame Secure Access Manager or MetaFrame Password Manager as well as MetaFrame Presentation Server. Citrix recommends specific instructor-led training courses for individuals to best prepare for the required Citrix certification exams. The elective tracks for these certifications will also be supported through Citrix eLearning to maximize flexibility and convenience for participants.

The Citrix Certified Sales Professional(TM) (CCSP) certification, which is geared to Citrix business affiliates who are trained in how to most effectively sell and position Citrix technology, has also been expanded to cover the new Citrix products. CCSPs will be required to pass a series of new eLearning courses focused on selling and positioning the MetaFrame Access Suite as well as related networking fundamentals and cost-savings benefits. To enhance Citrix product knowledge, CCSPs will also select eLearning courses focused on any two of the four products within the MetaFrame Access Suite.

Beyond the updates to the specific certification programs, Citrix is introducing new certification policies which will allow Citrix-certified professionals to better understand and plan ahead to meet certification requirements needed to remain current. The policies also ensure that certification requirements and courseware remain consistent with the latest product developments. The revised policies will also impact Citrix's newest certification, the Citrix Certified Integration Architect(TM) (CCIA). Required exams and recommended courseware for the CCIA certification will be detailed soon.
