Citrix Systems Citrix Systems' (NASDAQ: CTXS) is an American technology company, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with subsidiary operations in California and Massachusetts, with additional development centers in Australia, India and the UK. , Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS CTXS Citrix Systems (NASDAQ stock ticker symbol) ), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced that the State of Montana Department of Administration Information Technology Services Division (ITSD ITSD Individual Training Support Directorate (Army Training Support Center, TRADOC, US Army)

) has implemented the PeopleSoft(R) Enterprise Portal with the Citrix(R) access infrastructure to simplify access to applications and information for nearly 12,000 employees working throughout the state. The improved portal integration requires fewer employee sign-ins to applications, substantially reduces training time and has cut help desk calls by 85 percent.

The ITSD, a division of the Department of Administration, provides much of the statewide information technology (IT) infrastructure for the State of Montana including certain support for the state's 23 departments and nearly 12,000 employees. In an effort to provide widespread offices with access to key human resource, financial and other applications in the PeopleSoft applications, ITSD implemented the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal to enable centralized cen·tral·ize

"As we were already using a Citrix solution to solve many of our remote access and connectivity needs, it seemed natural that we would turn to Citrix for a portal integration solution," said Rick Bush, manager of Web-based services for the ITSD. "As a result, Citrix Consulting came in, developed a scope of work, worked with us on the implementation and looked at future options. Everything flowed."

Citrix Consulting responded with a Web interface running in an active, unobtrusive Web client -- a "pagelet" -- that greatly improved deployment of non-PeopleSoft applications to the Portal. Using this pagelet, the solution provides end users with a single point of access to the state's core PeopleSoft applications, as well as other Windows(R), UNIX UNIX

"The State's main requirement was to improve integration with the portal to streamline system performance and to make applications more user-friendly," continued Bush, "The Citrix pagelet addressed both of these needs. Our trouble calls have dropped from one or two per day to one a week or less."

"Reducing the number of trouble calls from one every day to only one per week represents an 85% reduction. While just a 15-minute trouble call every day does not immediately appear very powerful, multiply mul·ti·ply

"As a result of the Citrix pagelet, overworked agency IT staffs can focus on critical projects or entirely new initiatives, doing more work with fewer resources."
