Canadian Hospital Uses Citrix to Reduce Application Deployment

The LHSC Information Management team needed a scalable and cost-effective solution to the time-consuming and expensive process of periodically upgrading more than 1,700 clinical and administrative staff desktops with the Cerner patient care application and office productivity tools, as well as replacing outdated hardware.

In addition to reducing operational costs, the LHSC IT staff can now deliver upgrades to the Cerner application far faster than before. Application updates are completed in -- literally -- hours instead of months. LHSC is also using Citrix access infrastructure to centrally deploy and manage Web-based PeopleSoft applications as well as a dozen office productivity applications, including Microsoft(R) Office, Groupwise, Word Perfect and Reflections 2.0.
