Citrix Extends NetScaler Application Firewall Product Line Making Web Security Accessible to Companies of All Sizes.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- New Standard Edition of Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall Offers Unprecedented Ease-of-Use; Move Further Bolsters Citrix's Web Application Delivery Product Portfolio

Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced the release of the Citrix(R) NetScaler(R) Application Firewall Standard Edition, a new version of its market-leading Web application firewall designed specifically for midsized enterprises and business units within large companies. While up to 75 percent of attacks now target application vulnerabilities(1), many companies do not have the in-house expertise necessary to manage the more advanced capabilities of Web application firewalls. With its new Standard Edition release, Citrix customers of all sizes can now enjoy immediate protection from the most common and dangerous Web security threats in a product that requires no in-house application security expertise and can be installed and configured in less than 30 minutes.

The company's newest Web application firewall release comes just 90 days after Citrix completed the acquisition of Teros, Inc., the market leader in Web application security. This acquisition, which was added to Citrix's NetScaler product line, extends Citrix's leadership in Web application delivery solutions. This enables companies to deliver Web applications with the highest performance, lowest cost and best security possible. Delivering secure Web applications is particularly challenging because Web vulnerabilities are generally easy to exploit(2), and attacks cannot be detected by traditional security products. In addition, Web applications provide direct access to some of the most sensitive and valuable data in any enterprise, including financial records, credit card numbers and customer identity information, making them especially attractive targets for hackers. These trends have led to a dramatic spike in Web application attacks according to the FBI, with 95 percent of enterprises reporting more than 10 serious Web security incidents last year, up from just five percent in 2004(3).

--Full protection against the theft of credit card numbers and other sensitive data

--Positive security model that requires no application security expertise to maintain

--Can be easily upgraded to the full Enterprise Edition if needed

Enterprise Edition:

--Adds advanced learning capabilities to protect against more sophisticated application attack types

--Adds protection against attacks that target specific user sessions (mandatory for e-commerce, secure extranet and online banking applications)

--Adds more granular control over application security policies

--Adds advanced protections that prevent the leakage of confidential Web site information

The new Standard Edition of the Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall is available today through authorized Citrix resellers. The Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall Standard Edition is available in a FIPS compliant model and was recently certified by the International Computer Security Association (ICSA) Labs. Pricing for the Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall Standard Edition starts at $20,000 USD.
