Citrix Announces the Three Finalists for its Annual Customer Innovation Award and Invites You to Get Out and Vote!

Betfair, McAfee, Inc., and Ryerson, Inc., Recognized for Innovation in Access

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Today at its ninth annual business and technology conference, Citrix iForum[TM] Global 06, Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, announced the three finalists for its inaugural Customer Innovation Award -- a new annual award program sponsored by Citrix. The focus of the 2006 customer award is on "Innovation in Access," and recognizes customers who have achieved superior business results by transforming their business using Citrix technology for on-demand access.

Finalists for the 2006 award are Betfair, the world's leading online betting exchange; McAfee, the global leader in intrusion prevention and security risk management; and Ryerson, North America's leading distributor and processor of metals. Each have demonstrated excellence in transforming their business processes and increasing their competitive advantage using Citrix infrastructure.

Citrix selected BetFair, McAfee and Ryerson after evaluating its diverse and global customer base of more than 180,000 organizations. Each of the finalists provided compelling examples of how their organizations leverage Citrix to increase customer loyalty, modernize processes and improve their business agility.

During the opening keynote, representatives from Betfair, McAfee and Ryerson showcased how they are using Citrix technology in exciting and innovative ways to grow and differentiate their businesses. iForum attendees will decide the winner of the award by voting throughout the conference using text messaging or by casting their vote at www.citrix.com/votenow. The winner will be announced at the iForum closing keynote on Tuesday afternoon, October 24, and visitors to the site can view videos of each finalist's use of Citrix technology.

2006 Citrix Innovation Award Finalist: McAfee, Inc.

McAfee, headquartered in Santa Clara, California and the global leader in intrusion prevention and security risk management, delivers proactive and proven solutions and services that secure systems and networks around the world. McAfee needed a customer Technical Support solution that would enhance customer satisfaction, shorten problem resolution times, and reduce escalations to the next support level. McAfee chose Citrix[R] GoToAssist[TM] after evaluating several products to modernize its Technical Support capabilities. Since adopting GoToAssist, McAfee has been able to achieve its ROI targets in less than two months. The call centers now have a 77 percent same day resolution rate - an increase of more than 13 percent over the previous year. In addition, the company has been recognized by the industry as having one of the best support structures in place; the Association of Support Professionals recognized McAfee with the Ten Best Web Support sites of 2006 award, while the IQPC awarded a Call Center Excellence Award for "Best Use of Technology."

2006 Citrix Innovation Award Finalist: Ryerson, Inc.

Ryerson is North America's leading distributor and processor of metals. The company's 100 service centers across the United States and Canada provide a link between primary metal producers and purchasers, offering their customers unparalleled products, value-added capabilities and geographic reach. When Ryerson decided to implement a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application from SAP, the IT department debated whether to deploy the solution in a client/server distributed architecture, or move to a centralized model where the application and its data are maintained and secured in the datacenter. After a proof-of-concept to evaluate the benefits of both, Ryerson elected the latter and rolled out SAP 4.3 on the Citrix Presentation Server[TM] application delivery solution. During the deployment, the company acquired Integris Metals which doubled the size of the organization. The Citrix Application Delivery Infrastructure allowed for a fast and efficient rollout of SAP company-wide and actually accelerated the integration of Integris employees. It also dramatically reduced the IT costs of integration to lower than what was originally expected. Bottom line: true competitive advantage through greater business agility.
