Citizens Inc. to acquire Mid-American's Life Insurers. (Companies).


As part of its growth strategy to reach $1 billion in assets by 2010, Citizens Inc. said it has agreed to acquire the outstanding shares of Mid-American Alliance Corp. for shares of Citizens' Class A common stock.

The transaction, which is subject to approval by Mid-American's shareholders and regulators, is valued at about $8.2 million.

The transaction's price makes the acquisition profitable for Citizens, said spokesman Joel Joel, book of the Bible
