Citizens Communications Completes Purchase of North Dakota Telephone Properties.

:CZN) announced today that it has completed the purchase of approximately 17,300 telephone access lines in North Dakota North Dakota, state in the N central United States. It is bordered by Minnesota, across the Red River of the North (E), South Dakota (S), Montana (W), and the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba (N).  from Qwest Communications

 and U S WEST. The North Dakota transaction is the third of these purchases to close, following transactions in Nebraska and Minnesota involving GTE operations. On July 12, 2000, Citizens agreed to purchase Frontier Telephone's 1.1 million access lines from Global Crossing Ltd. All of the remaining transactions are expected to be completed over the next 12 months.
