Citizens Can Now Access Their Driving Records Online at www.Utah.gov.

SALT LAKE CITY -- If you're in the market for automobile insurance or are applying for jobs that involve driving a vehicle, you might need to access something called your "driving record" (also known as your Motor Vehicle Record or MVR MVR

). Of course, there's also that little thing called curiosity -- perhaps you're interested to see exactly what information is included in your driving record. Thanks to a new service available through the state's official Web site at www.Utah.gov, Utahns can now access their own state driving record at any time of the day or night from the comfort of home or office.

In the past, citizens needing a copy of their driving record had to go in person to a Driver's License Noun 1. driver's license - a license authorizing the bearer to drive a motor vehicle

"We process approximately 70,000 requests each year for citizens to access their driving records," said Judy Hamaker Mann, Director of the Driver License Division at the Utah Department of Public Safety. "We're proud to be able to provide this new and convenient online option for citizens."

The new online Driving Record System launched this week on Utah.gov. In accordance with the Driver Privacy Protection Act (DPPA DPPA Driver's Privacy Protection Act
DPPA Denver Police Protective Association
DPPA Dominica Planned Parenthood Association
DPPA Dallas Professional Photographers Association (Texas)
), the online system employs high-level authentication technology to ensure privacy and security. Here's what you'll need to use the new online system:
