Citizens Banking Corporation Announces Trust Preferred Securities Offering.

FLINT, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 2003

Citizens Banking Corporation (Nasdaq:CBCF CBCF Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

) today announced that it has sold approximately $25 million of trust preferred securities as part of a pooled transaction. The securities, which are considered Tier 1 capital Tier 1 Capital

A term used to describe the capital adequacy of a bank. Tier I capital is core capital, this includes equity capital and disclosed reserves.

Notes:
Equity capital includes instruments that can't be redeemed at the option of the holder.
