Citizens Bank Chooses Getronics Branch Solution.

BILLERICA, Mass. -- Getronics to Roll Out Globalfs(TM) Banking Solution to 1,500 Branches

Getronics, a $4.1 billion global IT services company, today announced that Citizens Bank has selected Getronics' Globalfs(TM) teller TELLER. An officer in a bank or other institution. He is said to take that name from tallier, or one who kept a tally, because it is his duty to keep the accounts between the bank or other institution and its customers, or to make their accounts tally.  system for its 1,500 plus branches.

William K. Wray, Citizens Bank's group executive vice president and chief information officer, stated, "The teller system is the key to delivering the quality and variety of service which our branch customers expect. We needed a system that could do all that, while being scalable to accommodate our growth and easy to integrate with other systems in our environment. We needed a system that was easy for tellers to learn and to work with, and easy to change when we needed to do so. We have had a long and healthy relationship with Getronics that when combined with their track record of delivery and the strength of their technology, led naturally to this decision to upgrade our teller system to Getronics' Globalfs software."

Citizens Bank's recent acquisition of Charter One added approximately 700 new branches. Getronics is already assisting in transitioning those branches to a common hardware environment at the teller station. At the same time, Getronics will be working with Citizens Bank to deploy an updated teller system focused on optimizing the productivity and effectiveness of its branch workforce. Getronics' Globalfs software fits the bank's web services-based architecture, facilitating integration with existing and emerging capabilities. Globalfs, which leverages Microsoft's Smart Client technology and .NET architecture, also enables Citizens Bank to tailor the solution to its needs without long development cycles or risky experimentation.

TowerGroup's Chief Research Officer, Bob Landry, notes, "Getronics has a long tradition of delivering quality solutions for the branch environment. Citizens Bank's decision to install Getronics' Globalfs solution across its branch network is an example of the strong global trend of increased IT investment in branch technology. Citizens Bank, like many other major institutions, is investing to improve revenue generation by increasing cross-sell effectiveness, while assuring high customer retention levels by delivering superior service."

"The faster and more effectively we implement a new solution, the sooner our clients benefit from optimizing their customer sales and service," said Kevin Roche Kevin Roche (b. June 14, 1922) is an award winning twentieth-century Irish architect. He is famous for his creative work with glass.
