Citizens' Environmental Sustainability Expert Heads to Budapest to Lecture on Environmental and Occupational Health and Socially Responsible Investing.

In addition to lecturing on environmental and occupational health, Dr. Veleva also will introduce participants to the field of Socially Responsible Investing Socially responsible investing describes an investment strategy which combines the intentions to maximize both financial return and social good. In general, socially responsible investors favor corporate practices which are environmentally responsible, support workplace diversity,  (SRI). Her presentation includes a brief history of SRI and its major components. Citizens' investment approach and screening criteria also will be discussed along with how SRI can serve as a driver for social change and sustainability. "CEU is highly regarded. I'm looking forward to addressing the role of SRI in an environmental context," said Ms. Veleva.

Dr. Vesela Veleva is a social research analyst at Citizens Advisers and has over 12 years experience in the environmental and sustainability field. She holds a doctorate in Pollution Prevention and Cleaner Production from the University of Massachusetts Lowell UMass Lowell was named the University of Lowell from 1975 to 1991, and was created from the merger of the Lowell Technological Institute and Lowell State College in 1975.
