Want to help set the direction for citizen involvement in parks and recreation in your state? The Board of Directors of the Citizen-Board Member Branch, NRPA's largest branch of members, comprises a citizen director from each state and the District of Columbia District of Columbia, federal district (2000 pop. 572,059, a 5.7% decrease in population since the 1990 census), 69 sq mi (179 sq km), on the east bank of the Potomac River, coextensive with the city of Washington, D.C. (the capital of the United States). . State associations can select, appoint or elect a volunteer to represent their state as a director on the C-BM Branch Board of Directors at the two NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association
NRPA Natural Resources Protective Association (Staten Island, NY)
NRPA Niagara Regional Police Association (Canada)
NRPA National Rifle and Pistol Association
 national meetings.

The following states currently don't have a citizen representative: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina North Carolina, state in the SE United States. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean (E), South Carolina and Georgia (S), Tennessee (W), and Virginia (N). Facts and Figures
