Citizant Hires Merck Veteran, Former Marine Officer, as Vice President of Human Resources.

Mike Fix to drive "best team" recruitment, lead acquisition talent integration

CHANTILLY, Va. -- Citizant, one of the capital area's fastest-growing providers of business and technical solutions to civilian and military government organizations, has hired Mike Fix to lead and grow its human resources function.

Citizant's customers include the Defense Information Services Agency, the U.S. Navy, the Defense Logistics Agency, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Railroad Administration, the Florida Department of Transportation and many other agencies.

Fix will assume responsibility for Citizant's human resources function, lead the company's recruitment of top candidates to fill approximately 30 new positions by the end of 2007, and develop talent-integration plans to support the organization's anticipated acquisition of at least two companies over the next 18 months. He reports to Citizant's cofounder and CEO, Raymond Roberts.

Fix recently served as human resources director for L-3 Communications-MPRI, a leading service provider for the U.S. government, foreign governments and private industry, based in Alexandria, Va. He managed daily operations of a human resources team which, over the course of three years, nearly doubled its internal customer base to serve more than 2,700 employees. Before joining L-3 Communications, Fix had a 22-year career in operations and human resources management with Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE: MRK), a leading global research-driven pharmaceutical manufacturer with 70,000 employees worldwide and $26 billion annual revenue. While with Merck, he provided comprehensive human resources support, including diversity planning and development, strategic staffing, mentoring, succession planning, labor relations, total compensation management, and problem resolution for Science &Technology, Quality Assurance and Materials Management groups at West Point, Pa.

Fix began his career as an executive officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph's University and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Purdue University. Fix recently received his SPHR certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute.

He is the second executive hired by Citizant this year, following the hiring in March of AOL veteran Bruce Milligan as vice president of marketing. The company's recent growth includes the addition of 20 employees since January, bringing the company's total workforce to about 120.
