Citigroup names Todd Thomson to head strategy and business development.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--December 16, 1998--Todd S. Thomson was named to the newly created position of Senior Vice President-Strategy and Business Development of Citigroup Inc., the company announced today. Reporting to John S. Reed For other persons of the same name, see John Reed.

John Shepard Reed (born 1939) is the former Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of Citicorp, Citibank, and post-merger, Citigroup.

Mr. Thomson previously reported to Mr. Weill as Senior Vice President-Global Development for Travelers Group. He joined the company earlier in 1998 from GE Capital Services, the financial services arm of General Electric, where he was

Senior Vice President-Strategic Planning and Business Development. Earlier in his career, he was Managing Director of Barents Group, merchant banking advisory firm, and a consultant at Bain & Company, international strategy consulting firm.
