The Citigroup Foundation has awarded salary grants of $4,000 each to 104 non-profit organizations A non-profit organization (abbreviated "NPO", also "non-profit" or "not-for-profit") is a legally constituted organization whose primary objective is to support or to actively engage in activities of public or private interest without any commercial or monetary profit purposes.  (a complete list is attached) that focus on community development through the Citigroup Community Summer Intern intern /in·tern/ (in´tern) a medical graduate serving in a hospital preparatory to being licensed to practice medicine.

Located across the U.S. and in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, the organizations are using these grants to provide undergraduate and graduate students with paid internships for the summer. CSIP grants are awarded on a competitive basis with the highest priority given to organizations that can offer interns a valuable learning experience in the community development field.

The organizations receiving CSIP grants take responsibility for identifying and hiring their interns in an effort to ensure that they find the most suitable candidates to meet their needs.
