hearing on "Information Security -- Vulnerability Management Strategies and Technology." This hearing will review the federal government's adoption of tactics to mitigate security issues and reduce the risk of unresolved vulnerabilities which leave IT systems open to cyber attack, as well as explore methods for closing vulnerabilities on their networks before an attack can occur.

The hearing will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time in Room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building The Rayburn House Office Building (RHOB) is a congressional office building for the U.S. House of Representatives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C., between South Capitol Street and First Street. .

Solomon has been invited by Adam H. Putnam, chairman of the Subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and the Census, to discuss how vulnerability remediation can help both the public and private sector to reduce risk and protect sensitive information. In addition, Solomon will recommend that the government and commercial software industries work together closely to develop strong security solutions to both existing and potential future threats.

"Congressman Putnam and the Subcommittee are on the leading edge of cyber security legislation and recognize the importance of protecting our national infrastructure through pro-active vulnerability remediation," said Steve Solomon, CEO of Citadel Security Software. "Citadel believes that government can benefit from private industry experience when addressing the overwhelming number of cyber security issues that have arisen in recent years, and I am honored to have been invited to testify before the Subcommittee on this topic."
