Citadel Launches Security Suite for Complete Protection Behind the Firewall.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 1998--

-- Citadel Security Suite Targets Network, Desktop and Data

Security --

Citadel Technology, Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB).
: CITN) announced today at COMDEX The former, premier computer trade show in the U.S. Although it grew into an end user event, it was originally created for dealers and distributors (it was the COMputer Dealers EXposition).  the immediate availability of Citadel Security Suite for complete network, desktop and data security behind the firewall. Citadel Security Suite, available through select resellers, integrators and direct from Citadel, combines the company's best selling security utilities: NetOFF for network security, WinShield for desktop security, and FolderBolt for data security.

Steve Solomon, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Citadel, said, "We're combining our best selling products to provide IT managers a solution for complete security behind the firewall. People typically think of "e-security" in terms of protection from outside intrusion -- when in fact only 14% of network security breaches originate outside the network. What organizations most need is internal security, and that means protecting unattended PCs, desktop configurations, and sensitive data."

NetOff for Network Security

NetOFF protects against network access at unattended computers. With NetOFF, an administrator can control the hours during which users are allowed to log on and specify that users are automatically logged off after a given period of inactivity or at a preset time. Users are logged off safely and orderly, with NetOFF automatically saving and closing all open files to protect against data loss. NetOFF also lets an administrator standardize a screen blocker for the entire company that requires password re-entry RE-ENTRY, estates. NetOff benefits include:

-- Unattended PCs no longer offer unauthorized network access.

-- Automated logoffs include an orderly shut-down of all open files

and applications at the desktop, protecting against data loss.

-- Server backups are more complete, since there are no files left

open at backup time.

-- Logoff See logout.  parameters can be assigned to individuals or groups,

allowing administrators the flexibility to define specific logoff

rules as needed as needed prn. See prn order. .

-- A "hot key" logoff feature allows users to save all open files,

exit all open applications, and logoff the network with a single

has been left briefly unattended; intruder An attacker that gains, or tries to gain, unauthorized access to a system. See attacker, intrusion and IDS.  protections are

activated after three failed attempts to enter a password,

causing the logoff process to begin automatically.

WinShield for Desktop Security

WinShield provides desktop security by allowing an administrator to assign desktop privileges to individual users or to groups of users. Working from an administrator workstation or at individual desktops, an IT manager can use WinShield to set restrictions and grant system access to each user, and to quickly adjust privileges whenever needed. WinShield allows multiple users to access a PC, and invokes the appropriate WinShield profile when each user logs on.

WinShield benefits include:

-- Greatly reducing support costs associated with problems caused by

desktop changes, system settings modifications, and control panel

changes.

-- Desktop appearance in specific groups can be easily maintained in

a uniform format, for ease of support and training.

-- Administrators can effectively control exactly what software can

be installed from CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

-- Companies can ensure that business-critical data is saved to

appropriate server locations for routine back-up, to safeguard

against loss in the event of hard drive failure, virus infection,

accidental deletion, or PC theft.

-- Each user's network access can be restricted to only those

-- Restricting additions and deletions of printers ensures use of

appropriate departmental printers, leaving the access to

expensive color printers to only those who truly need them.

FolderBolt for Data Security

FolderBolt completes the security scenario behind the firewall by providing individual users with the ability to lock-up (bolt) entire folders, and to encrypt folders or individual files. Administrators can prepare master override disks for use in unbolting or decrypting in the event of a lost password or need to access. Additional capabilities include the preparation of encrypted, password-protected files for transfer, and secure deletion of files to an absolutely unrecoverable state. FolderBolt benefits include:

-- Automatic bolting of folders at shut down, and automatically

unbolt them at startup with password entry, keeping their

contents secure from unauthorized access.

-- Secure deletion of files by overwriting Overwriting
