Citadel Broadcasting Corporation NYSE: CDL is a Las Vegas, Nevada based broadcast holding company. Investment house Forstmann Little & Company owns 27% of Citadel. Company (Citadel), announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Zeve Broadcasting Co.'s WHYL AM/FM AM/FM Amplitude Modulation / Frequency Modulation AM/FM Auto-Mapping/Facilities Management in Carlisle, Pennsylvania Carlisle is a borough in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, 18 miles (29 km) west by southwest of Harrisburg, the State capital. Carlisle is located within the Cumberland Valley, a highly productive agricultural region. As of the 2000 census, the borough population was 17,970. for $4.5 million. The acquisition expands Citadel's presence to five stations in the Harrisburg-Lebanon-Carlisle radio market, the nation's 73rd largest, where Citadel currently owns WRKZ-FM (Harrisburg), WQXAFM (Harrisburg) and WQXA-AM (York). Commenting on the transaction, Citadel Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Larry Wilson, stated, "Consistent with our strategy to build attractive station clusters in growing midsized markets, today's agreement provides Citadel the critical mass to better serve our listeners and advertisers in Central Pennsylvania. Lincoln Zeve, the present owner, has built his properties into powerful stations in his service area, and we are delighted that he will join Citadel and continue managing them as he has for more than nine years."
