CitX Launches NotarX - First Portal and Web-based Digital Identity Certification Service for Notaries.

digital notarization of user identity credentials

CitX Corporation, through its partner Baltimore Technologies (LSE: BLM), a global leader in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)-based cryptographic solutions, today announces the development of NotarX, the first Web-based application designed for use by Notaries to provide digital certification of an individual's identity credentials for trusted e-Commerce transactions and authorized access to sensitive information such as medical records.

The NotarX service will be provided along with related training to Notaries who subscribe to the new service through a unique Vertical Portal and e-Community that CitX is readying for launch later this year.

Notaries will be able to subscribe to the NotarX system through the NotarX Portal and perform the functions of a trusted Registration Authority Operator (RAO) for people and businesses who are interested in obtaining an Electronic Certificate and the ability to electronically sign documents or conduct secure e-Commerce between other individuals who have certifiable identities.

Notaries would perform face-to-face services, such as the collection and validation of documents to establish the identity of an individual, visiting the home or place of business of an individual to establish a valid address, or digitally notarizing documents, using the NotarX system to validate their actions.

The NotarX system is designed around the PKI-based Certification Authority (CA) and Registration Authority (RA) secure electronic certification topology that CitX and its partner Baltimore Technologies recently developed.

Unique to the NotarX system is CitX's patented pseudonyms data warehouse architecture and processing method, which enables user Identity Profiles and their matching Integrity Profiles to be securely stored and transmitted across the Internet without the need of encryption.

The Integrity Profile database maintains an ongoing history of the user's transaction activities stored in a pseudonymous fashion. This Integrity Profile can be used by subscribing clients to quickly flag a prospect for user identity fraud, while fully maintaining the privacy of valid users.

CitX will make this Integrity validation service available early next year through a new B2B service and Portal called Deal Guard.

CitX's Registration Authority facilities will be staffed by skilled individuals who are licensed Notary Publics who will attest and certify documents and information to verify that an individual or organization is who it claims to be, in compliance with new security policies being established by the Health Care Finance Administration (HCFA).
