Wellman spent 15 years (1968-83) with IBM in sales and marketing management positions of increasing responsibility, finishing as branch manager in the Large Account Division. He subsequently worked with several networking firms, serving in corporate vice president positions at Paradyne Corp., FiberCom and NetEdge Systems. His most recent position was as president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Wellman, who joined Cisco in late April, reports to Chambers. Reporting to Wellman are Cisco's IBM internetworking engineering team, led by Cliff Meltzer, and product marketing team, led by Nick Francis. Wellman, 53, holds a B.S. degree in finance from Marshall University. He is moving his family from Roanoke, Virginia to the Triangle area.
