Cisco and Ameritech Executives Join ShareWave's Board of Directors; New Board Appointments Add Further Momentum to ShareWave's Home Networking Strategy.

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 1998-- ShareWave, Inc., an ingredient technology supplier of multimedia digital wireless home networking technology, today announced the addition of three prominent industry executives to its board of directors: Robba Benjamin, vice president and general manager of Cisco Systems' (Nasdaq:CSCO) newly-created Consumer Line of Business, Craig Y. Lee, a vice president with Ameritech Development Corporation (NYSE:AIT), and Dino Vendetti of Vulcan Ventures, Inc.

These new appointments bring the total number of ShareWave board members to seven.

ShareWave recently announced its fourth round of financing which brought together industry heavyweights Cisco Systems, Ameritech, Intel Corporation, and Philips Electronics (NYSE:PHG). In this round, ShareWave raised $25 million, bringing the total amount invested in ShareWave to date to $42.5 million.

ShareWave will use these funds to further its product engineering, marketing, and technology development efforts, as ShareWave continues to propel its vision of the Multimedia Furnace(TM) as the optimum model for digital convergence in the home.

Robba Benjamin brings to the ShareWave board a strong history of both Internet and consumer business experience. "ShareWave's latest round of financing from Ameritech, Philips, Intel, and Cisco affirms that the company is poised to be a leader in home networking," said Benjamin. Most recently, Benjamin was senior vice president of Sprint, where she served as president of Sprint's Multimedia Group and as the chief of staff for the

Long Distance Division. She developed Sprint's Internet strategy and also launched the company's leading edge Internet products in telephony, email, fax and conferencing.

Craig Lee brings to the ShareWave board extensive experience in the interactive, communications and Internet industries. During his tenure at Ameritech, Craig Lee has served as a director of Peapod, L.P., KidSoft, L.L.C., MNI Interactive, and Telogy Networks.

Dino also spent over 15 years in the wireless communications industry holding executive, engineering, and marketing level positions with various companies including Metawave Communications and Qualcomm, Inc.
