Cisco Systems to Provide International IP Network for Carrier1.ZURICH, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 1998--Cisco Systems has been awarded a contract to provide an international IP network to European-based Carrier1. Cisco will provide Carrier1 with a turnkey network solution, worth in excess of US$5 million. The new network will be ready to carry customer traffic from Sept. 1 and will span five European countries, with links to the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America.
