The Forum is comprised of leading telecommunications service providers; Cisco is joining Novell and Lotus as a Special Member technology provider. Cisco will work with Forum members to develop internetworking technology that will accelerate deployment of multimedia carrier services intended for business applications. The focus will be on development of highly scalable solutions with the quality-of-service guarantees required for business-class public networking. Key networked multimedia technologies include bandwidth reservation, multicast support, flexible queuing mechanisms and scalable virtual private networks (VPNs).
