Cisco Systems strengthens New England presence selects Chelmsford site for ATM operations.

The company will relocate from its 54,000 square foot site in Billerica to a 144,000 square foot facility at 250 Apollo Drive in Chelmsford. The site was chosen to meet the company's current needs and future growth plans and to create the most advanced ATM development laboratory in the country.

Cisco currently employs 140 people at its ATM Business Unit in Billerica and more than 4000 worldwide. The company had revenues of nearly $2 billion in fiscal 1995. Cisco established ATM operations in Massachusetts following the acquisition of LightStream Corp. in January of 1995.

"I am proud to establish Cisco as a resident in New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt.  and excited to carry on the region's tradition of high tech innovation."

The Chelmsford site will be responsible for the marketing, development and support of the industry-acclaimed LightStream 2020 ATM switch.
