Cisco Systems Chief Technical Officer Edward Kozel Joins Cisco Board.

, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1996--Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced that Edward R. Kozel, Cisco's chief technical officer, has been appointed to Cisco's board of directors.

Kozel is responsible for Cisco's strategic technology planning and acquisitions, strategic joint development projects and consulting engineering. Kozel is an industry innovator who previously worked at Boeing, McDonnell Douglas and SRI International, where he participated in the early design and development of the Internetwork Protocol (IP) model and TCP/IP TCP/IP

Kozel will replace Dr. Michael S. Frankel, vice president and director of the Information, Telecommunications & Automation Division at SRI International in Menlo Park, who has served on Cisco's board since 1992. Frankel is resigning for personal reasons.
