Cisco Selects Cybrant to Power Solution Selling.

Business Editors, Technology Writers

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2001

Cisco's Sales Organization to Implement Cybrant Solutions

Architect to Drive Cisco's Solution Selling Programs

Cybrant Corp., the leading developer of Internet-based solution design, product selection, and configuration applications announced today that Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO CSCO Cisco Systems Incorporated (stock symbol)
CSCO Chief Supply Chain Officer
) has selected Cybrant's Solutions Architect to power their solution selling platform.

Cisco's enterprise license of the Cybrant solution will be used by their direct sales reps and indirect sales channels. The initial solution deployment will be on Cisco's Aironet Wireless LANs A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band. It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area .

Cisco's ability to rapidly acquire new companies and deliver new products to the market has emphasized the need for its sales force and partners to quickly ramp-up on new and sometimes complex solutions. They need to understand each new product and how it fits as part of a complete networking and communications solution. Cybrant Solutions Architect easily integrates into Cisco's existing infrastructure and provides a selling platform where Cisco reps can confidently produce a solution for their customers from numerous independent products. The ability to rapidly engage with customers and partners on new technology solutions will provide Cisco reps a significant advantage in the highly competitive networking and communications marketplace.

"It is critical for Cisco's sales force and channels to understand the complexities of their wide range of products, but also tie all of these products into a solution that fits the needs of their customers," said Ron Noun 1. Ron - a Chadic language spoken in northern Nigeria
Bokkos, Daffo

West Chadic - a group of Chadic languages spoken in northern Nigeria; Hausa in the most important member
Czinski, Vice President of Marketing and Services at Cybrant. "Cybrant makes this complex process simple with Solutions Architect. Cisco can take the shared knowledge from their most senior sales engineers and bottle it in Cybrant Solutions Architect for all of their sales channels to tap into. We expect to provide a significant return on Cisco's enterprise-wide investment in Cybrant."

Using Cybrant's Solutions Architect allows Cisco's sales force to know what questions to ask, enabling them to present a customer specific solution on the spot. Cybrant Solutions Architect collapses a process that could take weeks into hours, and in some cases minutes, by eliminating the need for product experts to be involved in every customer interaction.

Cybrant's Solutions Architect addresses the complex challenges associated with solution selling by using the patented, scalable Cybrant Information Engine. This enables Cisco's direct sales force and channel partners to quickly collect customer input and provide them with the right solution based on their specific business needs.

"Companies in a rapid mode of acquisition stand to lose a tremendous amount of money when new products are delayed getting to market because the sales force lacks the information and tools to sell effectively," said Dave Buchanan, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  and co-founder of Cybrant. "We are excited to provide value to a world-class company like Cisco by giving its sales reps and partners immediate access to the knowledge necessary to sell Cisco's product line."
