Cisco's Gary Stager Joins Omneon Video Networks as VP Engineering.

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2000

Omneon Video Networks(TM) is ramping up, adding former Cisco engineering manager, Gary Stager, as Omneon vice president of engineering. Today the company announced Donald Craig, its co-founder and vice president of engineering, will head a newly created architecture group as executive vice president and chief technology officer. With that announcement, Stager is joining Omneon in Craig's former capacity to manage engineering of its VIDEO AREA NETWORK(TM) infrastructure.

Stager was most recently employed at Cisco where he led the development of the recently introduced Cisco uBR10000 Broadband Router A device that provides access to the Internet for multiple computers. It typically includes a network switch with four or more Ethernet ports for wired connections to desktop and laptop computers. "Wireless" broadband routers include an 802.11g access point. , as well as the well-known 7200 and 7500 series routers. Prior to his work with cable products, he was the engineering manager for a number of network products including LAN/WAN LAN/WAN Local Area Network/Wide Area Network  SONET interfaces, processor cards and Gigabit Ethernet interface adapters. Prior to Cisco, Stager held principal engineering and management positions at Fujitsu Network Transmission Systems and Convex Computer. During his tenure at Convex, he was a principal architect for large-scale I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device.
