Cirrus Receives FAA Certification.PALM SPRINGS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 23, 1998--Cirrus Design Corporation today received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), component of the U.S. Department of Transportation that sets standards for the air-worthiness of all civilian aircraft, inspects and licenses them, and regulates civilian and military air traffic through its air traffic control (FAA) to manufacture its new SR20 aircraft. The Cirrus SR20 is the first and only general aviation aircraft to be certified with an airframe parachute system.
