) today announced that Jaton Corp., the world's largest video and multimedia PC card supplier, has selected both Cirrus Logic's FastPath(TM) 56K(1) modem chipset (CL-MD565X) and CrystalClear(TM) single-chip ISA (1) (Instruction Set Architecture) See instruction set.

Jaton's innovative Explorer 56 Plus uses the Cirrus Logic FastPath and CrystalClear platforms to deliver both the fastest Internet access over common phone lines and immersive 3D audio on a single ISA Plug-n-Play board.

In addition, Jaton also announced today the Explorer 56, a standalone 56K internal fax/modem, as well as the Explorer Plus, a 33.6Kbps modem and 3D audio board, which are also based on Cirrus Logic modem and audio chip solutions.

The Explorer 56 Plus internal fax/modem/3D audio board will be available in August 1997 at a suggested retail price of $159.00. The Explorer 56 internal fax/modem board is available now at a suggested retail price of $129.00. The Explorer Plus 33.6 internal fax/modem/3D audio board is available now at a suggested retail price of $99.00. The Explorer 56 and Explorer 56 Plus include the 3-D software tool TriSpective(TM) and an audio headset with microphone valued at $200.00.
