:CRUS) today announced the world's most advanced 24-bit stereo D/A converter, the CS4390, raising the performance bar for the digital audio market.

Highlighting the Crystal Semiconductor Products Division's expertise in delta-sigma technology, the CS4390 brings new levels of audio quality to the professional/semi-professional and high-end consumer market. The new delta-sigma DAC See D/A converter and discretionary access control.

"The new CS4390 underscores Cirrus Logic's commitment to provide the professional and high-end consumer audiomarket with unprecedented levels of audio quality and performance," said John Paulos, director of audio products for Cirrus Logic's Crystal Semiconductor Products Division. "By leveraging our years of expertise in mixed-signal design and by incorporating our advanced delta-sigma conversion techniques, the new 24-bit D/A D/A

Unparalleled Performance, Pin Compatible with CS4329

The unparalleled performance of the CS4390 offers 106 dB dynamic range, 115 dB signal-to-noise ratio (EIAJ EIAJ Electronic Industries Association of Japan

) and -97 dB THD+N THD+N Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise . The CS4390 is pin compatible with Cirrus Logic's flagship 20-bit D/A converter, the CS4329. Therefore, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  customers can easily upgrade to the 24-bit converter without changing circuit design or layout.

The advancements of the CS4390 are directly attributed to Crystal's proprietary delta-sigma technology. The primary purpose of using delta-sigma modulation techniques is to avoid the limitations of laser trimmed resistive DAC architectures by using an inherently linear 1-bit DAC. The advantages of a 1-bit DAC include: ideal differential linearity, no distortion mechanisms due to resistor matching errors, and no linearity drift over time and temperature due to variations in resistor values. -0- Additional features of the CS4390 include:

-- 128X Oversampling Creating a more accurate digital representation of an analog signal. In order to work with real-world signals in the computer, analog signals are sampled some number of times per second (frequency) and converted into digital code.  -- Independent muting for left and right channels -- Low clock jitter sensitivity -- Digital De-emphasis for 32kHz, 44.1kHz, and 48kHz. -- Filtered Line-Level Outputs -- Linear Phase Filtering -- Adjustable system sampling rates including 32kHz, 44.1kHz, and

48kHz. -- Internal voltage reference circuit isolating the voltage
