Prior to this assignment, Conrad held several varied and increasingly responsible positions at Harrah's Las Vegas Harrah's Las Vegas is a hotel and casino located on the famed Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. The property is owned and operated by Harrah's Entertainment. The hotel offers 2,677 rooms with an attached casino providing 87,000 square feet (8,051 m²) of space. , including casino floorperson, gaming instructor, special events manager and casino marketing manager. Conrad's key contributions can best be summed up as the recognition of gaming as a form of entertainment and the creative implementation of ideas aimed at fostering this aim. He was the main creative force behind the "Party Pit" concept, now prevalent at many gaming properties. His notion of celebrating slot winners with music, medallions and enthusiasm has created legions of surprised customers, and his concept of inviting these same slot winners to free rooms and a free winners' event in the soft pre-Christmas period led to vastly increased casino revenues at Harrah's Las Vegas during this time and earned the Promus Companies' coveted cov·et v. cov·et·ed, cov·et·ing, cov·ets v.tr. 1.
