The bankruptcy report comes on the heels of a news release on November 3 in which the company announced that it would close 155 domestic segment stores, reduce future store openings and aggressively renegotiate certain leases. At that time, Circuit City stated that it was “considering all available options and alternatives to restructure its business.”

It is clear now which alternative has been taken.
